Jamie Cantu

Owner | Coach

Jamie first experienced CrossFit in 2009 and had an immediate love of the sport due to the always challenging WODs, short time spent in the gym, and the great community of people. In 2010 she obtained her L1 and CrossFit Kids certifications, and in 2018 achieved her L2 certification. Jamie is co-owner of Kirkland CrossFit and super proud of the community surrounding KCF! She lives in Kirkland with her husband, two stepsons, and baby girl!

Erica Gamble

Owner | Coach

Erica became co-owner of Kirkland CrossFit in July 2017. She discovered CrossFit in 2011 and saw an immediate transformation after life-long struggle with body image. She especially fell in love with the weightlifting component of CrossFit and received her L1 Certification later that year. She holds the CrossFit Gymnastics certification as well as the CrossFit L2. During the 2014 and 2015 Open, she placed in the top 200 worldwide in her age division to advance onto the Master’s Qualifier Event. She grew up in Bellevue, was a competitive swimmer and rowed crew for University of Washington. Erica currently lives in Kirkland with her two children.

Brigid Freitag

Coach

Brigid began doing CrossFit in 2013 after competing in Olympic Weightlifting for 3 years. She has been a collegiate strength and conditioning coach for 7 years, most recently at Washington State University. She received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kentucky. Her certifications include USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coached Certified. She enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends. Brigid and her husband Kevin have a son and daughter on the way!

Jason Rusk

COACH

Jason began sports performance training and Olympic lifting at 9 years old in order to get faster and stronger for football. Though football was his primary sport, he loved working out, but was forced to quit football after an injury.  In 2012, he was introduced to CrossFit and instantly found his new passion. In 2013 he began coaching as a Sports Performance Coach for athletes ranging from 9 years old to collegiate level, and as a CrossFit instructor. He is certified in USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and CrossFit L1. He received a bachelor’s degree in Fitness and Human Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University. Outside of coaching, Jason enjoys competing in local competitions, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his fiancé Ashely and dog Oakley.

Drew Smith

COACH

In 2016, Drew was working out at LA Fitness and going through the motions of being a body builder, when his buddy asked him to try a workout he saw online. That humbling WOD let Drew to CrossFit.com and the rest is history. CrossFit gave Drew an outlet for his competitive drive that he had missed since high school sports, but more than fitness also gave Drew a community filled with great friends. Drew loves working out and truly caring about the athlete working out next to him. In his 13 years of CrossFit Drew has learned so much from great mentors and experiences and loves passing those onto others. He truly wants everyone that comes to KCF to come away fitter and more knowledgeable about movement. This is his passion and tries to share that passion through instruction.
